There couldn't be an area where our two missions, AI and Small Businesses, align as perfectly as in finding the best AI logo makers! Every small business needs a logo, the question is of course: Can AI beat a brand designer?
If you're small to medium enterprise is about to outgrow this category and you're dealing with bigger clients, it's probably time to hire a designer or a brand expert to create a custom logo for you. You should be more deliberate at this point about what image you want to convey and the substance for that can not come from an AI tool (yet!).
So we have compared the 12 best AI logo makers, and they differ so much in quality and price that we want to give you a shortcut to a professional logo right away. Note that these are different from AI tools for image generation. Most AI logo makers allow customization, most let you download your logo even as a vector file.
BrandCrowd's logo creations are so refreshingly different and really don't look like AI generated logos usually look: like anything Microsoft did in the 90s. It's mega easy to get started, and the logos are ultimately customisable. Also, they offer a full brand package with website creation etc. I love that you can add keywords which will make the logo much more relevant. At first I had added 'AI, tools' and realised how the tools was misleading for the designs. With only the AI keyword, the designs became so on point, I love it. Another great advantage of BrandCrowd is just the vast amount of logos you can choose from. It gave me 9600 suggestions, all very different. For someone who's not easily pleased aesthetically, this is logo heaven.
If you see our logo changing in the next couple of weeks, don't be surprised because I kept falling in love with various logos during my AI tool test of Design.com. It's evident that they are coming from the same makers as BrandCrowd, the whole website setup is so similar. I slightly prefer the website of Design.com, therefore this tool is in first place. And both are amazing and have kicked Looka from the throne...
Looka offers a couple of practical features: Taking a look at the change history really helps deciding which version is the best. You can also make a copy of the current logo, so you don’t have to work on variations in the original version. Plus, I really like the logo it has generated, it quite unique, even though not AI-ish.
Tailor Brands is like a one-stop-shop if you are a small business only starting out, as they have so many useful things in their toolbox. You should also know that if they write on their website their free offer includes a logo sample, it means a sample of another company logo. I was not able to come up with a use case of a logo for a random brand, can you? Anyways, the price per month is great compared to other companies and the logo created was one of my favorites.
Logogenie is a great and solid tool. What I like most is that it's so extremely easy to navigate and use. It gives you plenty of good design suggestions for your new logo, which you can still adjust if needed. A very solid tool, even though not 100% free.
Zoviz asks for very little input in the beginning and still creates surprisingly great logos. And the full brand kit is pretty impressive and should equip a new small business with all essentials needed such as Social media profiles & covers, business cards, letterheads, email signature templates and a brand book. I'm a fan!
Designs.AI is, just like our number 3, Tailor Brands, a one-stop-shop with many useful things in their toolbox for a new brand just starting out. And they have another thing in common: also here if you see “one free sample download” it means a logo from a random other company. So no real benefit there. But still, the logos look good and the price is absolutely ok for what they offer.
LogoAI is a very easy to use tool with great features and much variety for the refining and editing process of your logo. So much so that I’ve created 3 logos in the end, which I all am a bit in love with now. Too bad I already had a logo when I met LogoAI. It’s not cheap, but the result you will receive, is worth printing and placing all over your new brand, so as a one-time payment acceptable.
On the homepage it says it's free, but they should perhaps clarify this, (like Looka does) that it's free to use but not free to download. Overall it's a decent tool, but it would be great to try around more and customise the logo before having to buy it upfront.
Logomaster.AI is one of those solid but unexciting tools: Everything rather works than not. As a non-designer, I don’t know what the perfect distance between icon and copy is, so I would prefer for this to be pre-set. Instead, we can freely move these elements around, possibly resulting in a ‘Frankenstein Logo’ and by that, I mean a stitched-up brand appearance. The benefit over just using the free Canva version isn’t really clear to me.
Even though DeepAI was listed as a logo maker, the tool is actually not able to generate a proper logo. Obviously, it should stand freely and the file format has to be eligible for a transparent background like png files, which DeepAI doesn’t offer for download. DeepAI might be able to do a lot for free, but the tool is not able to generate logos you can use.
Shopify’s Free Artificial Intelligence logo maker is a big disappointment. Apparently it creates your logo for free (as it says in the name) and requests your email address to send the download link, which then is empty. Free for nothing is still not a good deal.

You see that we had to disqualify two of the tools: despite DeepAI prominently popping up in our search for the best AI Logo maker, it is not able to create a real logo, as the designs are not even provided without a background.
The other big disappointment was Shopify, who sent us an empty file instead of a logo, which we obviously had to punish with a disqualification.
So yeah, maybe we should mention that all the free logo makers turned out to be very crappy. We advise investing about 30$ for a proper logo, in the end people will connect its quality directly with the quality of your brand. That’s worth a small investment.
But there were also a few delightful surprises! Design.com, Brandcrowd and Looka were really easy to use; the generated logos look great, and these AI tools are affordable. But see for yourself, we added all AI-generated logos below so you can compare easily for yourself.
