How to get started with Artlist io?

When you sign up for the first time, you'll find three main areas at the top of the dashboard: the AI Toolkit, Stock Catalog, and the Studio (coming soon). For an easy start, let me break them down for you:

The AI Toolkit
The AI Toolkit is where you'll find all your generative AI models for voice, video and image generation. You can easily switch between the three areas or between models within each one through the chat window below. Every session automatically creates its own chapters, which you can find in the left sidebar within the AI Toolkit. This is super practical for keeping a good overview and working within projects or browsing images without endless scrolling.

The Stock Catalog
You prefer scrolling and getting inspired by Artlist's own creations? Fine as well! The Stock Catalog is the place for you to linger around like a high school kid at detention. Sift through their range of music with 30.000, 70.000 (!) SFX, endless images and videos made with or without AI, and templates. If you find your favorite scene or image, you can also give it your own color grading filter with Artlist.io's LUTs.

Pro Tip for getting started with Artlist io
If you prefer to take a step back and start by viewing all existing material first (absolute time saver, instead of generating everything yourself you can leverage their catalog), then I recommend starting by creating an artboard. You can find this under Stock Catalog in the left bar. Via the plus button you can enter your keyword or topic, and after a few seconds Artlist's AI will have done the heavy lifting for you and assembled images, videos, music tracks, and SFX.

Artlist io for AI Video Generation

As mentioned earlier, Artlist io always integrates the newest AI models for video generation right away, and currently their arsenal counts 23 video models. Where other platforms might have more models, Artlist io seems to bet on quality over quantity while still giving a wide range of different providers so users can test what works best for their specific creation. At the moment, you can access models by Veo, Kling, Sora, Grok, Wan, Hailo, Seedance, and LTX (I'm not adding specific model versions because they'll be outdated in the blink of an eye).

When choosing them, you can see in the overview the specific markers of each AI video model, whether they have start and end frames, audio, the resolution output, credit cost, their strength as a model, and maximum video length. I really like this because it makes it super easy to pick the right tool for your video generation.

Additionally you can add a negative prompt straight in the interface or decide on prompt accuracy, and when you feel more loose, let the AI video generator freestyle a bit. Yay!

Similarly, the AI image generation overview of models is super practical and also displays the input/output option, resolution, credits, and best use case. Typically you can generate up to 4 images at once, and for Artlist's own model Artlist Original 1.0 it's even 6 images. Artlist io for Voice Over Generation

Switching to the voiceover generation feature in the chat window is super easy, just pick the little sound icon on the left and find the newest AI voice models from ElevenLabs, MiniMax, and Cartesia. At the moment you can choose between 74 languages with funky ones like my original language Hungarian or Swahili, Urdu, or Nepali. Independently you can also set 4 different accents for American, Australian, British, or Indian. With the stability toggle you can make the voices more expressive but in return also less consistent throughout generations.

Pro Tip for AI Voice Over Generation
This is one of my favorite hacks for Artlist and I've spoken about this in my AI voice generator comparison too: I couldn't find the AI voice effects like Vintage Radio, Phone Call, Monster, or Upstairs Neighbour on any other platform. They make your project so much more fun and versatile and let you add an extra layer, especially when paired with video creation.

Artlist io as a Music Library

Within the Stock Catalog you'll find the massive music library of Artlist, and as I mentioned earlier the company was focused on this area of filmmaking early on before the AI wave. Therefore the music library is really impressive and boasts 30K music tracks. All of their licensing fees are included within the subscriptions, so as a creative person, you don't have to even waste a thought about licensing and other unsexy stuff.

I appreciate the advanced filter system that lets you choose genres, moods, video themes, and even instruments. With the highlight toggle you can switch on that the preview of the song starts at the most relevant part of it. The filters for vocals/instrumental, song duration, and BPM add an extra layer for people who know pretty well what they're looking for. You can even just look for songs including stems.

Whether you sort the music catalog by staff picks, top downloads, or newest songs tells me more about you than a hand reader could.

What are the strenghts of Artlist io?

The main reason why Artlist io is one of my favorite AI platforms is that it assembles everything I need to generate a video in one toolbox and does that on a very high level. There are various other creative AI platforms out there, but the variety of AI models alongside the different materials like footage, SFX, and music library basically means that I never have to leave the platform or pay for another subscription.

There are also so many little built-in tools (e.g. LUTs) or practical settings. For instance, you can add your social channels to their clearlist so that YouTube and co. don't flag you regarding music licensing, because you pay for the licensing already in your subscription.
So, in short, for me, the strengths of Artlist lie in the level of creativity it allows within the same platform and general practicality.

What are the weaknesses of Artlist io?

The only weakness I can think of is what I've mentioned earlier under the point where Artlist io isn't a good fit: it's not a tool with which you can just edit your videos straight or on your phone. It's more for an artistic soul. Not for the TikTok creator who records themselves pointing with their finger at a screen rather than screen recording it and choosing a more aesthetically premium solution. Do you know what I mean?

Does the film community embrace Artlist io?

Yes, video creators worldwide very much embraces Artlist io. I was witness to this during their AI Toolkit launch in New York in early 2026 where they showed up by the masses. This was a great signal that Artlist no longer is the underdog from their AI music library days, but has ventured into the big AI creative market long ago.
