New Adobe Firefly Image 4 Model & Video Generation Guide
My Impression of Adobe Firefly for Image Generation
When I first tested Adobe Firefly about one year ago, I was impressed. Adobe hasn't just thought about image generation with AI, but it actually had thought one step ahead by integrating clever features that their competitors haven't thought of yet. This was the first model that let me generate images with my desired camera angle. It was also the first tool that allowed me to adjust the visual intensity of styles.
This creative ai revolution has transformed how designers, marketers, and content creators approach their workflows, making professional-quality content creation accessible to everyone.
And another plus point, it was the first unbiased generative AI image generator. I always use the same text prompt at first for testing AI models:
Create an image of 2 people looking at each other, one being an AI robot, the other a woman. The background is space and the mood is friendly.
My first generated image with Adobe Firefly was the first to be unbiased.
Adobe has generated an image of an older lady facing the robot. Pretty cool!
Of course, many competitors have caught up in the meantime, integrating these unique features into their tools as well. But for a company that has been around much longer than these new AI startups, it's impressive how they don't get stuck in the past.
Fast-forwarding to today, Adobe has once again reinvented itself and is slowly but surely creating an all-in-one toolbox. At their latest release, Adobe MAX London, they introduced Firefly as a unified AI-powered tool for image, video, audio, and vector generation within one single platform.
For the user, this means not having to switch tools back and forth and paying only for one subscription. What a delight! Adobe has released a major update to Firefly with several key improvements and new features. Let's take a closer look.
New Adobe Firefly Features
Enhanced Image Generation with Adobe Firefly Image 4 Model
Firefly now includes two versions:
Firefly Image Model 4: Fast and efficient for everyday creative cloud work like simple text illustrations and icons
Firefly Image Model 4 Ultra: Creates highly detailed, photorealistic images and portraits for complex projects
Both models generate images much more accurately and realistically compared to the previous Firefly model. The Firefly Image Model 4 delivers unprecedented quality in AI image generation, setting new standards for commercially safe content creation.
I love love love this image generation by the new Firefly Image 4 model!
Video Creation Capabilities
The Firefly Video Model represents Adobe's breakthrough in AI video generation, offering commercially safe content creation that rivals traditional video production methods.
The Firefly Video Model can:
Generate video clips up to 5 seconds long from text prompt or image prompts
Generate video clips in multiple resolutions up to 1080p
Support different aspect ratios including 16:9, 9:16, and 1:1
Create transition effects and preserve fine details when converting image to video
Premium users get unlimited access to video generation. Pick two still images and use them as keyframes to generate video. Or put your ideas to life into motion with a text prompt. Generate b-roll, create visual effects, and refine shots by choosing camera angles, motion, and style.
Be careful, it's a real time machine, and you won't see friends and family for a while ; )
New Creative Tools by Adobe Firefly
Text to Vector: Quickly creates editable vector graphics like icons and patterns from simple text descriptions.
Firefly Boards: A collaborative workspace where teams can create mood boards, storyboards, and brainstorm ideas to life together in real-time.
Adobe Firefly Integrates Third-Party AI Models
Adobe now lets users choose from other AI models alongside Firefly, including Google Imagen3, OpenAI, and Flux models. This gives creators more style options while maintaining transparency about which model was used and ensuring commercially safe content.
Unlike many competitors, commercially safe Firefly models ensure legal compliance for business use, making them ideal for enterprise environments where content rights matter.
Integration with professional tools like Photoshop web and Premiere Pro enhances the Creative Cloud workflow significantly. Firefly seamlessly integrates with Adobe Express and other applications, now offering AI tools assistance throughout every stage of the content creation process.
Adobe Firefly Soon On Mobile
Adobe is also expanding Firefly's accessibility with a dedicated Firefly app that will bring these powerful AI tools directly to smartphones and tablets. This mobile version will allow creators to generate and edit content on-the-go, making professional-quality AI-powered design tools available anywhere inspiration strikes.
The upcoming Firefly app will democratize access to professional-grade generative AI, bringing the next evolution of creative AI directly to mobile devices.
Users can manage their generative credits efficiently across all Firefly models, with transparent usage tracking and flexible subscription options that scale with creative needs.
As you can tell, I’m a bit of a fangirl for the new Adobe Firefly Image 4 Model
In my extensive AI image generator comparison, I concluded that I'm glad to see Adobe isn't making the same mistake as Kodak did: resting on their success and missing the next evolution of creative AI. With their new Firefly release, they've shown once again that there's no danger of this happening for now.
