Perplexity Review 2026 - Can It Really Replace Google Search?

Perplexity is my go-to when I need help with text generation, especially for copywriting. I usually use Claude Sonnet for more personal questions, but when it comes to writing tasks, Perplexity is where I turn. One thing I really like about it is that you can use different models all in one place. This makes it easy to switch between them depending on what you need, and you only need one subscription. That’s a big plus in my Perplexity Review. \### Using Perplexity Labs for Real Tasks Sometimes I use Perplexity Labs, which feels like working with a mix of a helpful researcher and a coach who gives you action steps. For example, I used it to do a competitor analysis for my website. The results were actually very useful. I got a clear to-do list for the next 3, 6, and 12 months. It took about 9 minutes, and it even gave me graphics with the right info. In my case, it explained how other AI tool sites make money and showed me where I could do better. That was pretty cool and made me rate Perplexity even higher in my Perplexity Review. \### Free Pro Plans and Brand Deals Another thing I like is that the company often gives away Pro subscriptions through brand deals. For example, at the end of 2025, PayPal users could get a free Pro plan. I’m on one of those free plans now, and honestly, I can’t imagine going back to a platform that only lets you use one model. \### Some Downsides to Perplexity Of course, Perplexity isn’t perfect. Sometimes it doesn’t follow my prompts exactly, like when I ask it not to add links but it does anyway. I’m not sure if this is because of high traffic or new updates. Also, even though there’s an image app, the pictures it makes are usually not good at all, so I just skip that feature. Overall, Perplexity makes it easy to use different models for different needs, and the extra features like Labs and free Pro plans are a big bonus. Even with a few small issues, I still find it really useful for copywriting and research.
