Trying Out Notion AI – First Impressions

For this Notion Review, I wanted to see what Notion AI could do, especially with my email content. I tried to connect it to my Gmail inbox. At first, it looked like it was working, but it only tried to connect to my workspace email. Later, I found out the connection didn’t actually work. The setup process was a bit frustrating and not as easy as I hoped.

Switching Gears: Using Notion Pages Instead

Since the email connection didn’t work, I picked a Notion page with dates for some AI courses I’ll be teaching soon. I used this as the context for my chat with the bot. My notes didn’t have the exact dates yet, so I asked Notion AI to look them up online. It couldn’t do that, which was disappointing. I tried a few more things, but nothing really worked smoothly. To sum it up, Notion AI sounds great in theory, but in reality, it still needs a lot of work. My Notion Review is that it might take another year before it’s actually useful.

Building with Notion – The Good Parts

On the other hand, Notion is a solid app if you like using templates or building your own systems. If you enjoy figuring things out and making your own setup, Notion can be really strong. But for me, I like productivity apps that save me time and come ready to use. That’s where Notion still falls short for me.
